It is truly amazing what resources are out there and how far we have come with technology.
Since the technology is there for us to provide the world with more sustainable options... why is our culture so far behind?
Culturally we have accepted the idea of fast fashion and running out to get a new outfit every time we have a new event instead of re-purposing an old item or considering our clothing as ART where we put more thought and investment into the pieces we bought in the first place.
Don't get me wrong, I am not scolding you on your habits. I am a millennial myself and struggle with the same cultural norms. The ideas that we live by are changing with technology every day.
Why not simply be part of the change?
I have decided to take the first steps toward change. I hope that you will take the steps with me!
My first step is to change my shopping habits. Shopping was an everyday thin for me which was not only rough on the environment but rough on my wallet, and not to mention my new marriage. SO i have drastically cut down my spending on useless items. I would encourage you to do the same.
I still get my shopping fix (because it is hard to cut your shopping addiction over one night) by shopping at our local Bloomingfoods. It is a local co-op chain of grocery stores where my husband and I are members. We plan the items we need and shop together. It makes the shopping still a time consuimg experience/hobby but redirects my shopping addiction to a new, healthier habit.
Take the first step with me to a new lifestyle! Can't Wait to hear all about your experience!
